We’re delighted to welcome Anita Goyala, PhD, to SYDRA. Anita joined our team on 1 September 2026, bringing a strong foundation in aging biology and experience investigating the molecular mechanisms that shape lifespan and cellular function.
Her role connects computational analysis with hands-on research. Working primarily in bioinformatics and data science, Anita will help interpret biological data and guide experimental questions. She will also contribute directly to target deconvolution and mechanism-of-action experiments in human cell cultures, supporting our efforts to understand how SYDRA’s lead compounds work.
At ETH Zurich, Anita’s postdoctoral research explored extracellular matrix remodeling in aging and healthy longevity using C. elegans. Her work combined lifespan and healthspan assays, imaging and molecular approaches to investigate how collagens and immune pathways influence longevity.
In her subsequent postdoctoral role at the Paul Scherrer Institute, she investigated chromatin organization and cellular reprogramming, including drug screening and imaging studies involving aged human primary cells. This experience adds a valuable experimental perspective to her work at SYDRA.
Anita earned her PhD in Aging Biology at India’s National Institute of Immunology, studying the molecular pathways linking metabolism, cellular maintenance and longevity.
Beyond her scientific background, Anita shares our commitment to understanding aging biology and translating that knowledge into medicines for age-related diseases. Her ability to connect data with biological questions fits naturally with SYDRA’s approach: let experimental evidence guide which discoveries advance.
Welcome to the team, Anita!
